Salicylic 20%/ 30%

Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hidroxy Acid with keratolytic and comedolytic properties. It reduces the cohesion of corneocytes causing the exfoliation of dead and damaged cells, the controlled destruction of the epidermal layers and the subsequent skin renewal.

Thanks to its lipid solubility and lipophilic nature, it penetrates deeper into the sebum filled follicles and cleans clogged pores improving acne prone skin.

With keratolytic, bactericidal, astringent and fungicidal properties, Salicylic acid has been effectively used for the treatment of acne, counteracting all acne critical factors (comedones, bacteria and inflammation) by targeting each stage individually:

  1. Comedones causing clogged pores: Salicylic acid produces desquamation exfoliating excess of dead cells located in the skin surface and inside the pore.
  1. Bacteria: with antimicrobial properties, Salicylic acid is highly effective against the Propionibacterium acnes bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne.
  1. Inflammation: derived from acetylsalicylic acid, it also retains its powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

It causes flaking on both epidermal layer and inside the pore, being recommended to combat the cause of facial oil, acne, seborrheic skin, whiteheads, blemishes as well as aged skin. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles, skin imperfections and hyperpigmentations, improving skin texture and glow, without irritation commonly associated with Alpahydroxyacids (thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties).
