Mandelic acid is an Alpha Hydroxy acid derived from the hydrolysis of an extract of bitter almonds. It stimulates the shedding of damaged pigmented cells from the skin surface, improving the skin’s texture, tone and luminosity. Due to its higher molecular weight, Mandelic acid does not penetrate deep into the skin therefore avoiding irritation.
It is recommended for sensitive skins and darker phototypes. It may be used on hyperpigmented and oily skins.
